Status Update

It has been a while since I’ve posted here but I have been monitoring the site for comments and emails. As I’ve mentioned previously I’ve been going through a very troubling period in my life. 18 months ago my wife was diagnosed with ALS. It has spread through her body rapidly. My absence from the site is because I don’t have time to devote to programming/writing at home because she requires care and that of course comes first. Her health continues to spiral downwards and she does not have much time left upon this globe. Soon she will depart this world and will no longer be in pain and confined by a body she cannot control. While it will be a sad day it will also be a happy day because she is no longer suffering.

Since it is also approaching the holiday season I’d like to wish you all a very happy holiday season. For those that celebrate it I hope that you have a very merry Christmas. I wish you all the best in the coming year.

  1. Hello Jamie,

I wasn’t going to register, even that I had curiosity of what was happening in your life… But I just can’t stay and watch. No words can’t describe how you feel about this… I just can’t imagine it. No matter what your beliefs are, just stay strong… for her.

You’re a kind and gentle person, and I am thankful for everything you have done. I have learned so much thanks to you… You’re an inspiring leader, (writer first, programmer later).

Please, keep us informed about your wife’s health, and don’t give up. Stay strong.

  2. I’m very sorry to hear. Like the person above me, I felt I had to register to tell you to stay strong and be there for your wife. We’ll be here when you get back…. but for now your place is with your wife. =)

  3. Jamie, I’m so sorry. I registered just a while ago, when I read Your horrible message here 🙁 Now I know, why you were absent for longer time and appreciate, that in all of that hard time you cared for wife.
I wish you all best and remember: don’t give up;) Because of You, I learned so much about game programing.

    Merry Christmas,
    Peter
